As announced by President Dietz in the State of the University address, the University of Pennsylvania Center for the Study of Race & Equity in Education is conducting a comprehensive, multi-population campus climate assessment. Findings will assist in focusing our diversity efforts and building a meaningful and effective plan that continues to strengthen Illinois State University.
The research team was on campus to facilitate focus groups in November. Over 230 members of our university community participated in over 30 focus groups.
The final phase of the assessment with the Center for the Study of Race & Equity in Education comes in the form of an online survey. It is important that we hear from all members of the Illinois State University community about their experiences and perceptions related to the inclusiveness of our campus.
Responses are completely anonymous. The link provided to access this survey does not trace the source of responses in any way. Reporting of the data collected by the survey will be done in the aggregate, which means no individual responses will be provided, but rather responses will be grouped together by categories of race, gender, professional role, etc. Any and all short-answer responses will be analyzed for patterns and themes to further ensure confidentiality of the individual responses provided. This work will be performed by the Center for the Study of Race & Equity in Education with the results shared with the University.
The survey is open until February 8th.
