Do you know What it Means to be a Redbird? By sharing these common characteristics, we can all do our part to make sure everyone feels like a valued member of our Redbird community.

  Redbirds encourage community through a respect for differences. We support each other when our viewpoints and values are challenged, internally or externally.

  We all come from varying backgrounds and have multiple, different identities that contribute to who we are as individuals. No matter where we come from, we want to ensure that all Redbirds feel included on our campus.

  Whether referring to honesty in our academic pursuits or making ethical decisions in our everyday lives, our Redbirds display integrity both in and out of the classroom. We support each other in doing the right thing every day.

  We support students through individualized attention and specialized services. The care we show to one another and how we look out for each other is what really connects our Redbird community.

  Strong relationships and connections are formed here among our administration, faculty, staff, students and alumni. Illinois State is a very special place because of the bonds we have as a Redbird Family.
