This is a 160% increase in participation from the previous year as a result of a partnership with IDS 128 classes.
  • Three editions of Redbird Impact have been produced and distributed to campus, community, political representatives, and donors. The stories in these magazines highlight the valuable partnerships between Illinois State University and the community. • The Center met with over 30 community agencies to discuss partnerships during the 2017–18 academic year. Fifty-one community entities responded to a community partner survey capturing quantitative and qualitative data concerning partnerships with ISU.
  • The Civically Engaged Learning Goals were developed to provide learning outcomes and an assessment rubric for curricular and co-curricular activities. The Center also co-hosted a free film showing at the Normal Theater in September 2018 as a civic learning opportunity. The Island President was shown and followed by a presentation from a community partner about greenhouse gas emissions. 85 individuals attended, including 65 students.
  • The Center established a community consulting board in 2018 to provide input and guidance related to Center initiatives.
  • In December 2018, 281 local children in need will receive holiday gifts through the generosity of Illinois State faculty, staff, and students and the Holiday Helper program through the Center.
  • Since the Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) was established in 2017, a total of 3,407 individuals have participated in CCE service projects and Alternative Break trips. Their work resulted in 32,620 hours of service.
